ABOUT me
faith AFTER EVANGELICAL fundamentalism
I’m a writer, speaker, and Bible teacher who believes discipleship isn’t a bucket to fill or a box to check off but something that should permeate our entire lives and bring together all of us and our gifts and experiences.
I spent most of my life in a Bible Belt bubble, and it wasn’t until I got a job at a missions agency and got to travel the globe to witness what God was doing that my faith changed forever.
Since then, I’ve been on a journey to disentangle my faith from my culture and to create space for finding what to hold firm and what to hold loose. Today, I stand in the “messy middle,” a place with firm roots in Nicene orthodoxy and lots of elbow room for most other things.
My passion is drawing together the strands of theology, history, and culture to make disciples that believe, act, and become according to the Way of Jesus.
